For those with commitment and devotion, the Kenpo-Kobudo experience will infuse their life with the powerful practices and ancient ideals of warriorship and martial arts. Reflecting the many years of training and real world experience of Soke Eugene Coutu, his art is perhaps the finest Kenpo available today.
Kenpo is an art designed to fit every body type, and a broad foundation of technical skills are deeply explored. Starting with blocks, punches and kicks students progress to locks, breaks, throws and takedowns. These skills are augmented with escapes, diversions, defense against multiple attacks and street survival tactics.
While traditional Kobudo refers generally to weapons like the sword and farming tools like the staff, nunchaku, sai, kama and tonfa; modern Kobudo also embraces the instruments of protection afforded by our culture and teaches the use of, and defense of, sticks and edged weapons for self-protection.
